Just curious about what people do.
We have two huge cabinets (drawers) which belonged to Mr Z's study in the last house. He has a different set up here so we put them in the music room. He has the lion's share (well there were his cabinets) and I keep my music there except when I bring loads of it to my study in these kind of storage baskets. I'm not sure it's the most sensible of solutions...
What do the rest of you do? And does it work!

I have a little table which is positioned by my left knee as I sit at the piano. It is meant to be there just for the music I am actively playing but inevitably the stack of books and sheet music grows over a matter of a few months. Then I have a sort out and music that I'm not playing goes into a storage box on a concealed shelf at the rear of the house. The thicker books of music which can stand upright are placed on the next shelf upwards.

I have 'meant to be' issues as well. I pile so much stuff on my music stand that it becomes like the leaning tower itself... The trouble is when they're in baskets it takes ages to sort through. The drawers in the music room are in order but every so often I have to sort them all out again because they end up getting empty! There are wonderful old fashioned music cabinets but I think I've filled up the house too much as it is...
