Apparently Mollenhauer have some new recorders - aimed at children. They're maple with a plastic mounthpiece. Mollenhauer describe the colours as 'imaginative' which I liked a lot. They are seriously bright! Even my delight in the bright is satiated by them. They're called Fipple Recorders which I must say I like that too.
The tone is very bright too!
I have a plastic mouthpiece, wooden body recorder though so I don't think I need any more just at the moment.

Aha - the good old fipple flute. I have finally, today, done some playing, for the first time in several weeks - just a quick canter through a few old favourites on the recorder, but it felt good to get started.

felt good to get started. Great! I look forward to a progress report! I took out my recording equipment. I've forgotten how to switch it on and I couldn't make it work at all. Mr Z had to start it for me... I thought I'd try recording as I go along to see if I improve... I have wondered about playing left handed... I suppose it depends on how active fingers 2 and 3 are on the right hand... And there's my dodgy finger 4 on my right hand in any case...
