I'm reading a book about the capture and imprisonment of Richard I which also discusses the legend of Blondel. I just wondered if anyone has come across any of his work. He sounds like a really interesting person.

Before Zi posted I wouldn't have known if the person was fiction or fact. There is a Wiki listing.

Definitely fact -thought it's not clear exactly who he was. There are a couple of candidates apparently. You may know the legend of Blondel singing below the castle where Richard I was imprisoned and then getting the information to England. It's a very iffy legend apparently.

I must admit, I only know about Blondel thanks to a comic fantasy novel called "Overtime" by Tom Holt.
