Wow - I see the estimated price is between 2 and 3 million pounds. A quick look suggests that a similar model, used but in excellent condition, would cost about £10,000, so basically almost the entire cost is because FM owned it. I can't imagine ever having enough money for that to seem worth it to me.

ITV news is reporting that the piano was sold for £1.7 million.

IMO the piano needs to be played lightly (in other words not by a concert pianist), kept out of direct sunlight, tuned at intervals not exceeding one year and have its soundboard cleaned periodically. This assumes it stays in a temperate climate such as the UK. If exported to the USA it is likely to require air conditioning. |

Can you imagine trying to explain that you spilled your latte over it? Or used the wrong polish? No thanks! That's quite aside from the fact that I don't have £1.7 million knocking about...  |

Recently I tried to apply beeswax polish to my polyester finished upright. Took a great deal of rubbing before any shine appeared. Won't do that again.

Do they come with a list of suggested polishes? Tend to think you are not meant to polish black polyester. Just take away the dust with a microfibre cloth. |
